He was born in Choumen, Bulgaria in 1978. He moved to Turkey in 1989. In 2001, he received bachelor degree in Gazi University Department of Architecture. In 2006 he received Master’s Degree in Middle East Technical University Department of Architecture. In 2006 he started his PhD Degree studies in Ankara University Department of Landscape Architecture those studies are continuing. In 1998 with his brother Sunay Erdem he incepted Erdem Architects. He completed a number of award winning architectural and urban design projects both in Turkey and worldwide. Many of these projects have been published in national and international architecture journals. In 2009 and 2010 he received National Landscape Architecture Awards in Turkey. In 2010 he received National Architecture Award in Turkey. He is multilingual with fluency in: turkish, english, bulgarian, russian, macedonian and other slavic languages.
